Greg MacKinnon is a Distinguished Engineer in Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD), and has over 35 years of software engineering and architectural experience spanning mainframe, open source, cloud, data modeling, performance management, and storage.

Greg’s primary focus area over the past decade has been simplifying the management of mainframes and modernizing the applications that run on the platform. He firmly believes that the mainframe should be consumable just like any other platform through a secure API layer and seamless integration with the hybrid cloud through cloud native tooling and architectures.

Greg is also driving the architecture for MSD’s Secure Software Supply Chain initiative. The goal is to establish Broadcom MSD thought leadership for the mainframe in this area, and to deliver the tools that help both Broadcom MSD and our customers defend against and respond effectively to software supply chain attacks
